New Roman Missal Information

Beginning with Advent in 2011, the prayers of our Mass will be changing.  We will receive the 3rd Edition of the New Roman Missal at that time.  The Vatican wants the Mass to more closely resemble its orginal language, so the Latin Mass has been more literally translated into English.  Many of our prayers will be changing.

In order to explain these changes, we have been including information in our weekly bulletins once or twice a month.  Listed below are all of the flyers that have been placed in our bulletins.  Please click on any of the file names to read more information about the changes to our Mass.

Additionally, you can listen to a podcast explaining the changes.  The podcast was done by the University of Dayton and is quite good.  The link for itunes is http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/beyond-the-words/id422671854 and the non-itunes users can listen at http://feeds.feedburner.com/byondthewordsromanmissal

If you have questions about these changes, please contact Scott Steinke at ssteinke@stjohnwc.org or call him at 777-6433.
