Agenda Items:
- Approval
of minutes from August meeting – all. The minutes were approved as written.
- Music
Ministry – Michael Dailey
- Overview
of Activities and Current Topics. Michael reviewed the music
ministry program at St. John. The new fall season is just beginning
and there have been a number of changes within the ministries members,
but overall it is a positive change.
Praise teams are beginning to form, youth choir has lost several
members due to graduations but gained others.
- Annual
Items - All
- Council
roster – finalized and distributed, anyone who did not receive a copy
please contact Rose
- Bylaw
annual review – no changes were received on the bylaws, the deadline for
submitting recommendations for changes has been extended to 9/10/08, if
there are no recommendations for changes the bylaws will remain unchanged
from the last revision date 9/5/06.
- Pastoral
Council Covenants – copies of the covenant were distributed and reviewed
to members who missed the prior meeting.
Copies were returned to all in attendance who signed in August.
- 2008
– 2009 Calendar planning – a copy of the schedule for the current council
year was distributed, a final copy will be distributed.
- Officer
Discernment – Fr. Mark facilitated the discernment, encouraged members to
express thoughts for themselves or others who might provide leadership to
our group and then from those discussed how one might feel called to this
role. Rose Braun and Cindy Muron
were discerned for a 2nd year in their roles as facilitator
and co-facilitator.
- Fr.
Mark’s Comments – asked us to give some thought to a “parish
congress” bringing the parish together to be a parish – involves no
fundraising, but is 3-4 events, possibly held over a weekend, may include
a picnic, might have a theme, something to bring everyone together and
take away the “bigness” of our parish.
Start thinking about some ideas how we might be able to orchestrate
something like this.
Adjournment and Closing Prayer of
Thanksgiving – Bart Utrata
Next Meeting: Monday, Oct. 6, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the
Undercroft Rooms D&E.
