We had another good committee meeting:

• We discussed how the Festival Pages worked. The info pages worked well. The form was posted late and several people signed up to help. It seems that the download to csv file had extra fields in the data. It was not clear what the extra columns are. Also someone who know Excel would need to reformat the resulting data so it fit better for printing and viewing.
• We are curious how many hits the Festival page got so someone needs to look at the Google Diagnostics to view the statistics.
• Debbie is having her tech contact look at how the new PDS Ministry Scheduling software works and to see if we can interface that to the on-line Minister's Schedule.
• Debbie and Dan will work with the staff for the Generations of Faith form for this fall.
• Eventually the staff would like to have the PSR Registration Form and Parish Registration form on-line.
• Steve did some additonal demonstrations of modifying the web site. One can access the server using ftp at ftp://www.stjohnwc.org/.
  • The Drupal files are located at /home/stjohnwc/drupal. The themes directory contains the different themes available on the web site. The default theme is stjohn. Brett created stjohn-test for the committee's use. 
  • The key files to modify to change a theme are: page.tpl.php and style.css. These files are used to set the web site's style. These files or all of the files for the theme could be copied to the local computer. Then the files could be edited and copied back to the web site. Steve demonstrated how to modify these files to change the appearance of the web site.
  • We'd like information from Brett on how to change the color scheme of the web site through the style.css. 
  • The committee would like to have Brett's help to learn as much as possible about how best to make modifications to the Drupal web site. Everyone should look at the Admin pages and check if there are links they do not understand how to use.
• Steve announced that he and his family are joining Our Lady of Sorrow parish in Monroe. Danielle will be the Pastoral Musician there. Steve's willing to help the committee transition to new leadership and will attend the meetings through the end of the year.
• The next committee meeting is Monday, October 15 at 7:15 PM in Undercroft E.
